- Understanding key regulations, including Part P of the Building Regulations and BS 7671 (Wiring Regulations), that apply to domestic installations.
- Knowledge of legal responsibilities and compliance requirements in domestic settings.
- Electrical Theory and Principles for Dwellings
- Reviewing essential electrical theory, including voltage, current, resistance, and circuit design.
- Application of electrical principles in domestic installations, such as lighting and socket circuits.
- Installation of Electrical Systems in Dwellings
- Planning and preparing for the installation of wiring systems, enclosures, and components commonly used in domestic properties.
- Installation of consumer units, protective devices, and various wiring systems to meet safety and regulatory standards.
- Inspection and Testing of Domestic Electrical Installations
- Conducting initial verification tests to ensure installations comply with safety standards.
- Performing tests such as continuity, insulation resistance, polarity, and earth fault loop impedance in line with BS 7671 requirements.
