NRSWA Unit 01 - Signing, Lighting and Guarding
This course equips delegates with the knowledge and practical skills to safely sign, light and guard a work site in line with relevant regulations. Delegates learn to correctly set out signs, barriers and lighting, and to identify when additional traffic management measures are required to ensure the safety of all road users.
Description
This course is designed to enable delegates to develop and demonstrate the knowledge and practical skills required to safely and effectively sign, light and guard a work site. Delegates will learn how to correctly select, position and maintain appropriate signs, barriers, lamps and warning notices in line with relevant legislation and advisory documentation.
The course also develops delegates’ understanding of varying site conditions and risk factors that may require additional control measures, including the use of portable traffic signals, traffic diversions or road closures. On completion, delegates will be equipped to apply safe systems of work that protect themselves, colleagues and members of the public while ensuring full compliance with industry standards.
