SA002 - Safety Underground

This qualification covers gas testing and cover lifting. Delegates are provided with the knowledge and skills required to identify the hazards and potential risks involved in working safely on, or in proximity to, underground structures and operational buildings. Delegates will also gain knowledge on health and safety legislation compliance and the safety practices required whilst working in the underground network

Description

An open course is in a classroom in a face-to-face environment. This accreditation is one mandatory unit, over a one-day course which covers gas testing and cover lifting. Learners are provided with the knowledge and skills to identify the hazards and potential risks involved in working safely on, or in proximity to, underground structures and operational buildings.

The SA002 – Underground Safety course will teach you how to identify the hazards and potential risks involved in working safely on or in proximity to underground structures and operational buildings. It also enables learners to gain knowledge of compliance for Health and Safety legislation. In addition, it will test learners’ knowledge, skills and understanding of dangers associated with these works and the safety precautions required while working in the underground network.

This course equips delegates with the knowledge and practical skills to safely sign, light and guard a work site in line with relevant regulations. Delegates learn to correctly set out signs, barriers and lighting, and to identify when additional traffic management measures are required to ensure the safety of all road users.

This accreditation has been created to ensure that people working on ladders and wooden poles do so safely, using the correct procedures and practices, whilst following all relevant policies. This course covered 3 modules: Overhead Safety, Pole Checking and Joint User Poles. Delegates will leave with the skills and knowledge of the potential risks and hazards involved, and an awareness of compliance with health and safety legislation
