SA001- Safety Overhead

This accreditation has been created to ensure that people working on ladders and wooden poles do so safely, using the correct procedures and practices, whilst following all relevant policies. This course covered 3 modules: Overhead Safety, Pole Checking and Joint User Poles. Delegates will leave with the skills and knowledge of the potential risks and hazards involved, and an awareness of compliance with health and safety legislation

Description

The SA001 – Overhead Safety course provides learners with the knowledge and skills of the hazards and potential risks involved in working safely on ladders and wooden poles in a telecommunications environment. The accreditation will test learners’ knowledge, skills and understanding of dangers associated with these works and the safety precautions required while working on ladders and wooden poles. In addition, this course will develop delegates awareness of compliance with health and safety legislation.

This accreditation ensures that delegates involved in working on ladders and poles are suitably trained and accredited to the National Occupational Standard (NOS).

This course equips delegates with the knowledge and practical skills to safely sign, light and guard a work site in line with relevant regulations. Delegates learn to correctly set out signs, barriers and lighting, and to identify when additional traffic management measures are required to ensure the safety of all road users.

This qualification covers gas testing and cover lifting. Delegates are provided with the knowledge and skills required to identify the hazards and potential risks involved in working safely on, or in proximity to, underground structures and operational buildings. Delegates will also gain knowledge on health and safety legislation compliance and the safety practices required whilst working in the underground network
