NRSWA 03 - Reinstatement & compaction of Backfill Materials

This course equips delegates with the knowledge and practical skills to safely sign, light and guard a work site in line with relevant regulations. Delegates learn to correctly set out signs, barriers and lighting, and to identify when additional traffic management measures are required to ensure the safety of all road users.

This accreditation has been created to ensure that people working on ladders and wooden poles do so safely, using the correct procedures and practices, whilst following all relevant policies. This course covered 3 modules: Overhead Safety, Pole Checking and Joint User Poles. Delegates will leave with the skills and knowledge of the potential risks and hazards involved, and an awareness of compliance with health and safety legislation

This qualification covers gas testing and cover lifting. Delegates are provided with the knowledge and skills required to identify the hazards and potential risks involved in working safely on, or in proximity to, underground structures and operational buildings. Delegates will also gain knowledge on health and safety legislation compliance and the safety practices required whilst working in the underground network

Course Aim To develop competence in locating and avoiding underground apparatus during streetworks.

Course Aim To develop safe excavation skills in highway environments.

Course Aim To develop competency in reinstatement using non-bituminous materials.

Course Aim To deliver practical knowledge of cold-lay reinstatement techniques.

Course Aim: To develop safe working practices with hot-lay materials.

This course will provide skills in reinstating modular and concrete surfaces safely.

S1 (Signing, Lighting, and Guarding): Ensuring sites are safe, compliant, and properly marked for the public. S2: Monitoring safe excavation techniques and ensuring ground stability. S3: Verifying proper backfill materials and compaction to prevent road subsidence. S4: Monitoring the installation of non-bituminous foundation layers. S5: Supervising the laying of asphalt and bituminous materials.
