The City & Guilds 2391-50 Level 3 Award in Initial Verification of Electrical Installations is designed for electrical professionals who want to develop their competence in inspecting, testing and commissioning new electrical installations.
Throughout the course, you'll develop your understanding of safe isolation, inspection procedures, testing methods and the documentation required to verify that electrical installation work is safe and suitable before being placed into service.

5. Entry Requirements
This qualification is designed for learners with an existing understanding of electrical systems who want to develop their Initial Verification skills.
Learners must hold a current BS 7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations qualification. Suitability for the course will also be assessed before enrolment.
New to electrical installation? This is not an introductory Inspection & Testing course. You should already have appropriate electrical knowledge before progressing to 2391-50.
6. Assessment
Assessment includes both theoretical and practical elements.
You'll be assessed on your understanding of Initial Verification requirements, safe isolation, inspection and testing procedures, commissioning and electrical certification.
You'll also need to demonstrate your ability to carry out relevant inspection and testing activities and accurately complete the associated documentation.
The assessment checks both your technical understanding and your ability to apply Initial Verification procedures correctly in practice.
