Description
The Complete Domestic Gas Package combines CCN1 Core Domestic Gas Safety with four appliance-specific ACS categories, providing a combined assessment route for eligible gas operatives working across a range of domestic gas appliances.
CCN1 covers the core safety knowledge and practical competence required for domestic gas work, including legislation, combustion, ventilation, flues, pipework, safety procedures and testing requirements.
The package then covers MET1, CKR1, HTR1 and CENWAT, developing and assessing competence relating to domestic gas meters, cooking appliances, fires and wall heaters, boilers and water heaters.
Important: ACS is an assessment of existing gas competence rather than beginner gas training. New entrants will normally need to complete an appropriate training route and supervised workplace experience before progressing to initial ACS.
5. Entry Requirements
Candidates must be eligible to undertake the relevant ACS assessments and have appropriate gas training, knowledge and practical experience for the categories being assessed.
New entrants will normally need to have completed an appropriate recognised gas training route, including the required supervised workplace experience and supporting portfolio, before progressing to initial ACS.
Existing gas engineers attending for reassessment should provide their current or previous certification and any other documentation requested by Kelly Energy Training.

6. Assessment
Each ACS category includes assessment of the relevant technical knowledge and practical competence.
Candidates must demonstrate that they understand applicable gas safety requirements and can carry out the relevant practical procedures safely and correctly for the categories being assessed.
Assessment may include written or knowledge-based questions alongside practical tasks covering testing, commissioning, safety checks and appliance-specific procedures.
CCN1 is the core assessment. The MET1, CKR1, HTR1 and CENWAT modules assess competence for the specific domestic appliance categories included in this package.
7. Where can this qualification lead?
Successful completion of CCN1 and the relevant appliance assessments can support eligible gas engineers progressing within domestic gas work across the categories covered by the package.

Progressing to Gas Safe registration?
Successfully completing ACS assessments does not itself register an engineer with the Gas Safe Register. Registration is a separate process and applicants must meet the relevant Gas Safe requirements for the categories of work they intend to undertake.
